The FAQ section below refers to the currently available version of World Traveler. Please make sure you have the latest version installed.
World Traveler
- Go to download where you have three options:
- By text message - Downloads a link to your phone. Selecting the link installs World Traveler directly to your phone (See: "What is the easiest way to install World Traveler to my phone?")
- Download file - Downloads World Traveler to your PC. Install using Nokia PC Suite via cable or Bluetooth
- Upgrade - Upgrades your phone if you have the Nokia E52, E55 or E72. These models already have World Traveler installed and you just need to upgrade using the World Traveler plug-in manager to get the latest version (See: "How can I upgrade to the newest version?")
- Go to shop, download the application and install using Nokia PC Suite via cable or Bluetooth
- Register at and install using Nokia PC Suite via cable or Bluetooth
- You can also find links to download World Traveler from many blogs and web sites elsewhere on the internet. These are also valid links however they may not have the latest version. To ensure you get the latest version when you install World Traveler please go to the Plug-in manager, select World Traveler and select Update to get the latest version.
There are several ways to download and install World Traveler:
By far, the easiest way to install World Traveler to your phone is via the SMS download link. Go to download and click on By text message. Enter your country and mobile phone number and click Send Link. You will receive an SMS with the World Traveler download link. Select the link and World Traveler will download to your phone. When the download is complete, select the World Traveler file to begin the installation process. If for any reason you are interrupted, you can always find the link in your message inbox.
To upgrade to the latest version of World Traveler, go to the options menu and select Plug-in manager. From the list of plug-ins which appears, select World Traveler and from the pop-up menu select Check for updates.
World Traveler is supported by all S60 3rd Edition (Feature Pack 1 and 2) and S60 5th Edition, except Nokia E90.
Occasionally you may wish to deactivate World Traveler.
On certain models (for example, the Nokia E52, E55 and E72) Psiloc World Traveler is built into the ROM of some phones and can only be deactivated, not deleted.
Following the steps below to deactivate World Traveler:
World Traveler Settings > Internet connection > Disabled
To set your internet connection to Disabled; from World Traveler Settings, select where Internet connection is indicated and you will be directed to select from among two choices: Automatic and Disabled. Select Disabled.
If you have followed all of these steps correctly you will have deactivated World Traveler.
Occasionally you may wish to delete and reinstall World Traveler.
On certain models (for example, the Nokia E52, E55 and E72) this is not possible. Psiloc World Traveler is built into the ROM of some phones and cannot be deleted but It can be deactivated (see FAQ: How to deactivate and reactivate Psiloc World Traveler?).
Following the steps below will delete World Traveler:
Menu > Settings > Application manager (App. Mgr.) > Installed applications (Installed apps.) > Psiloc World Traveler > Options > Uninstall > Yes > Ok
Select menu, select settings, select application manager (App. Mgr.), select installed applications (Installed apps.) select Psiloc World Traveler, select options, select uninstall (‘Psiloc World Traveler' and associated content will be removed from phone. Continue?) select yes (Removing) Unable to uninstall application. Other application must be closed first. Close now? Select Ok (Removing)
Next, you will have to remove the Watchdog application:
Menu > Settings > Application manager (App. Mgr.) > Installed applications (Installed apps.) > Psiloc World Traveler... Watchdog > Options > Uninstall > Yes > Ok
You will still be in the Installed applications folder, now select Open Licenser (‘Open Licenser' and associated content will be removed from phone. Continue?) select yes (Removing) Unable to uninstall application. Other application must be closed first. Close now? Select Ok (Removing)

Flight Assistant
- Your phone's IMEI number (enter *#06# on your phone)
- The last four digits of the credit card number you used to purchase your subscription
Flight Assistant lets you search regular and low-cost airlines for flights, but it does much more than that: Flight Assistant combines the benefits of a flight search-and-selection utility, a tracking utility and a flight alert utility in a single plug-in. You can search, select, save and check for status changes of any flight in the world. If you set an alert on a flight, World Traveler will alert you if it is delayed, cancelled or its departure gate changes.
A Flight Alert is the quickest way to check the status of your flight. Once you have found and selected your flight using Flight Assistant, you can then set a Flight Alert which will check on the status of your flight for you. If there is any change such as a delay, cancellation or gate change, World Traveler notifies you immediately of changes with an increasingly loud alert tone and a pop-up window with details of the change (flight delay, flight cancellation, gate change, etc.)
When you have chosen a flight, create an alert by selecting Options; then scroll to Add to flight alerts from either the list of flights, or from the detailed flight summary; then select again for confirmation. Remember that you cannot create flight alerts for flights older than yesterday. If you do not see the option to Add to flight alerts please confirm the date of your flight. You may also add a flight alert from your list of saved flights. Simply select a saved flight (listed under Saved search results) in the main Flight Assistant window, select Options, from the options in the list select Create alert. You can create an alert for any flight until the date of expiry of your license.
Depending on your Access Point preferences, you may be asked whether you want to connect to the internet.
When you add a flight alert for an indirect flight, you are given the choice of tracking the flight from its point of origin or from any of the transfer points en route. Check the boxes on the left of the flight you wish to track and select Ok. Your flight alert is now added.
World Traveler offers the option of automatic or manual checking of flight alerts. For full functionality you must select automatic flight checking. Select Options and then scroll to Settings. You will see your present Flight alert update setting. Select your present setting (it will say either “automatic” or “manual”) to toggle between manual and automatic updates.
You will not receive any updates when the Flight alert update is set to Manual. This setting provides the option of checking for alerts whenever you wish. Automatic updates is the recommended setting because it enables World Traveler to periodically check for changes in the status of your flights and notifies you immediately of changes with an increasingly loud alert tone and a pop-up window with details of the change (flight delay, flight cancellation, gate change, etc.)
Yes, your license continues to be valid for the full 24-hour day on which it expires relative to the location of your flights.
Extending and renewing are practically the same. If your current license is still valid, you may extend it. if your license has expired you may renew it. In other words, if you have four days remaining and you purchase a 45-day license, then you have extended your license and now have 49 days of service. Otherwise, your new license is considered a renewal.
Yes. Your card details will be sent via a secure, encrypted connection (SSL provided by Thawte, a VeriSign company) to PayPal for verification. We do not save your details in any way but you are given the option to keep your card number on your phone locked behind a password so you can buy licenses at any time without having your card in hand. Caution: If you enter the incorrect password three times, World Traveler security measures are implemented and your card details are erased. You will then have to re-enter your card details when you want to make a purchase.
A monthly subscription to Flight Assistant is a payment and service option designed for maximum flexibility and convenience. When you begin a monthly subscription, World Traveler bills your credit card for EUR 3.95 and you can begin using Flight Assistant immediately. On the monthly anniversary of your subscription, World Traveler automatically renews your license and bills your credit card.
A monthly subscription costs EUR 3.95. An affordable and convenient option for those who desire uninterrupted service.
When you purchase a subscription to Flight Assistant, your license renews automatically on the anniversary of your subscription until you cancel. But when you purchase a license, it will expire unless you manually renew it.
To cancel your subscription, send an email to support@psiloc.com with the word CANCEL in the subject heading and include the following details in the body of your message:
That's all that is required. Your monthly subscription will be discontinued and one month after you were last billed your Flight Assistant service will expire.
Psiloc terms and conditions require you to cancel 15 days before your next renewal however in practical terms, cancellations will often proceed in 3 working days.
The IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number can be displayed on most phones by dialing the code *# 06 # on your phone's keypad. Also, the IMEI is commonly printed on the compliance plate under your phone battery.
Travel Safe
Travel Safe is a secure, encrypted virtual vault for storing important travel information on your phone, such as your passport number, credit card number, travel insurance policy, etc. All your data is secured behind a single user-defined password.
Yes. Travel Safe uses the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES). This encryption standard has been adopted by the U.S. government and uses a 128-bit key. Warning: If you lose your Travel Safe password you will not be able to recover your information.
Travel Safe > Options > Reset Travel Safe > (Reset password and data?) Yes
For security reasons, if you lose your password you will not have access to any data stored in Travel Safe. Follow these steps to reset Travel Safe. WARNING: This step will delete all your data and reset the plug-in and allow you to enter a new password and enter data. Proceed only if you are sure you want to delete your data.
Select Travel Safe, select Options, select Reset Travel Safe, a pop–up window will ask if you want to Reset password and data? Select Yes.
You have now reset Travel Safe. Follow the steps below to set up Travel Safe for use:
Travel Safe > Set password
To begin using Travel Safe you must set a password. Select Set Password and a pop–up window appears. Select the window and enter your password. When you have entered your password you will be prompted to confirm your password by entering it again. You are now ready to enter your essential travel information.
Travel Safe > Enter password > Any button > Enter your data in the fields provided
Once you have entered your password, the following buttons become available:
Passport, Identity card, Driver's license, Credit card 1, Credit card 2, Combination lock (Suitcase code), Travel visa 1, Travel visa 2, Insurance policy, Other data (Your notes, passwords, etc.)
Select any of these buttons to enter your travel information.
Travel Safe locks itself when you exit to other plug–ins, exit World Traveler, or whenever your phone goes on standby.
Connect
Psiloc Connect makes that often frustrating process of connecting to the Internet in the way you want efficient and simple. You set your preferences once and unless your preferences change you don't have to set up anything again. The alternative is to create access points for each individual network that you want to use. If Connect plug-in saves you minutes per week it saves you hours per year. The minutes add up.
If you already have Psiloc Connect as a standalone application you are entitled to the plug-in version for world Traveler for FREE. Connect enhances the functionality of World Traveler by bringing the ease of use and simplicity of the standalone application to the World Traveler open platform.
Yes. The plug-in version of Psiloc connect is compatible with the standalone version. After installation, your phone must be restarted for the plug-in and the standalone version to work correctly with each other.
After installing the plug-in and restarting your phone, you should open World Traveler and choose license from the options menu.
Options > License > Get License > Connect > Restore license
your Standalone Psiloc Connect license will now apply to your Connect plug-in for World Traveler.
No problem. Launch the Connect plug-in connection wizard and you will have the option of connecting to available networks not selected in your preferences. This will not affect your preferences. To change your preferences you must run the Connect setup wizard.
Launch the Connect setup wizard.
Menu > Installations > App. Mgr. (Application Manager) > Psiloc Connect Traveler Plug-in > Options > Remove > Yes
The connect plug-in for World Traveler creates an access point which remains even if you uninstall World Traveler.
To remove the access point, select application manager, select Psiloc Connect Traveler Plug-in, select options, select remove, select Yes.
Weather
The Weather plug-in shows high and low temperatures and standard meteorological forecasts for the week, such as sunshine, rain, snow and cloud cover. The daily forecast also shows wind speed and barometric pressure.
To check the weather in a friend's city you must Change My City in Options to the city of your choice. Select Options, select Change My City, enter your target country and city.
If the screen is gray then you have not updated your weather data. This happens when you have just installed World Traveler but have not yet connected to the internet to update the weather forecast. This can also happen if you have set your updates to manual and your previous forecast is now out of date.
A Weather Report gives you a pop-up window showing the daily weather forecast for your current location. You can set a Weather Report to appear at time of the day. To set a Weather Report, in Weather settings, select Show weather report and enter a time for the report to be displayed.
If you set World Traveler to give you a Weather Report in the morning, you will receive today's weather in the report. If you set World Traveler to give you a Weather Report after 6 p.m. in the evening, you will receive tomorrow's weather forecast.
World Clock
World Clock, you can select any of the cities and change them to the city of your choice.
Currencies
The top currency is set from your My City settings. This means that wherever you are, the top currency will be the one for your home location so you can always compare up to three other currencies to the currency you are most familiar with.
If, for any reason, you wish to compare four currencies at the same time, you can achieve this manually by going into settings and changing your My City location.
You can display up to four currencies at once. You can enter values in any of them and the others will automatically change. Currencies must be updated manually to get the latest rates. You can choose to have exchange rates updated daily, weekly or manually.
The exchange rates are supplied by theFinancials.com and originate from 184 currency exchanges worldwide. The exchange rate you see is the daily closing value of the exchange nearest to your current location so you will always have the correct rates for where you are at any given moment.
Hotelzon
- The hotels within your search criteria are fully booked. Please adjust your search criteria and try again.
- Very rarely, the Hotelzon plug-in cannot receive availability information. Please retry the search in a minute.
- In Advanced search, you should check that any optional text information you have entered is correct, for example hotel name and address. If you’re unsure of the spelling, simply leave the optional text information blank.
- Local hotels may not have updated their availability for your target dates, Rarely, hotels may have deactivated the Hotelzon booking option. Also, certain hotels have a policy of only showing rooms as available if more than one night is requested.
GPS search is only available with GPS equipped phones and requires an unobstructed view of the sky to function. If you have an AGPS supported phone, check that network assisted positioning is turned on:
Phone > Application settings > Positioning > Positioning methods
Be aware that GPS satellite signals cannot penetrate buildings. Storms and even overcast skies can also interfere with satellite signals. If you continue to experience difficulty Please use the Quick or Advanced search tool or try GPS search again when you have an unobstructed view of the sky.
When you search, World Traveler will ask for permission to connect to the internet. Please select ok to continue. If no results are displayed one of the following circumstances may have occurred:
Hotel room rates are most often displayed in the local currency (standard hotel booking practice) however this is entirely at the discretion of individual hotel partners. Please be advised that in certain countries, taxes and other fees may not be included in the listed price.
Plugin Manager
– This icon indicates that there is a new version available.
– This icon indicates that your selected World Traveler plug-ins are up to date.
–This means that you have disabled the plug-in so it is inactive and not visible in World Traveler.
– This means you have a message on ready to download from the World Traveler server.
Options/Plug-in manager.
